TheSandTrap.com member @RandallT created a beautiful, wonderful spreadsheet in Numbers* that can help you track your Strokes Gained putting, both historically and for your most recent round.
All you have to do is write down the distance of your putts. For example, from Randy’s own recent rounds:

You can also view historical rounds, and examine trends in your putting (one round is still too small a sample size to mean too much, after all).
Though putting is either an SV② or even an SV① skill, it is important to identify whether it may be a glaring weakness in your game. If it is, then you should examine whether it is your Read, Bead, or Speed that is causing you the biggest issues.

Strokes Gained Putting (Numbers File)
* Unfortunately Numbers is a Mac-only spreadsheet. If anyone is willing to adapt his spreadsheet to Excel, we’ll host that version along with the Numbers version here on the site.
One huge caveat on the analysis portion above that says “Your strength: 4-5 footers”:
Look at how I “really” performed at 5 foot putts.
I had two 5-foot putts as my Putt #1. Sunk them both. +0.24 each for 0.48 strokes gained. Woohoo.
BUT
I had two 5-foot putts as my Putt #2. Missed them both. Led to the two 3-putts.
Therefore, I only sank two of four 5-foot putts. That’s below the PGA Tour average. So there’s no reason to get cocky about my 5-foot putt ability, despite the note at the bottom saying it was a strength. I considered doing away with those little blurbs about strength/weakness. Then I forgot. I mainly did it to see if I could program it in the spreadsheet.
On the spreadsheet, there’s more detailed analysis (not shown above) that would reflect percentages at each range compared to the pros.
The gist is that overall, that round above is about 3 strokes worse than a pro would do (neglecting the different green conditions on tour and the course I played)- that’s the main takeaway.
It’s a little bit of an art to figure out where I putted the worst. Was it the poor lag from 44 feet or the botched 5-foot comebacker that is worse? It’s both that need improvement really, I think.
I’d be happy put together an excel version of this. but, I don’t the expected putts table. is it in the book somewhere? (i’m only though 80 pages so far..)
Eagerly awaiting for an Excel or Staroffice spreadsheet version. Thanks in advance.
Was there ever an excel version of this created?
It’s been 5 years, has a excel spread been created?
downloaded onto my iPad and can’t figure out how to enter my putt distances in the lighter shaded areas on the 1st page. Also can’t put in a type of round and date? Anybody out there who has been successful?
I have been successful in converting the “numbers” file into excel, message me with your email and I will send it to you.

Nobody’s adapted it yet. I exported it, so I can’t verify that it will work, here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/JruyRnBy – you’re welcome to try that.
